The Abyss
Nova Rai · Quietly Loud, 8 of 11

The story
There is a black edge I know well, and it calls my name like an old guide. I could have stayed in the harbour, safe and still, but what is a boat worth in the harbour? When the storm took nearly everything, a tiny candle still burned back. Not a blaze, not yet. One small light is enough to say I'm still here.
Lyrics
🔥 "Edge of the Void" 🔥
Footsteps echo in the hollow night,
Breath turns heavy in the neon light.
The weight of a thousand days and lives,
Crashing down in a quiet tide.
I see the chasm, black and wide,
Calling my name like a long-lost guide.
It whispers soft, it pulls me in,
But I won’t drown, not like this again.
I hear the storm, I feel the fall,
Every shattered voice that said I lost it all.
But somewhere deep inside the noise,
A flicker fights, a silent voice.
(Explosive, cathartic, like breaking through the gravity of despair.)
What’s a boat worth in the harbor? What’s a flame without the dark?
I was built for raging waters, not to rot behind the bars.
Even if the sun sets on the old lion’s throne,
I’ll burn through the night—I’m never alone.
They say let go, find the shore,
But stillness never called me before.
I’d rather break against the waves,
Than live my life inside a cage.
I hear them doubt, I see the sneers,
The ones who measure time in years.
But I’ve lived a hundred lives or more,
And I’m not sinking—I’m built for war.
I hear the storm, I feel the fall,
Every shattered voice that said I lost it all.
But somewhere deep inside the noise,
A flicker fights, a silent voice.
What’s a boat worth in the harbor? What’s a flame without the dark?
I was built for raging waters, not to rot behind the bars.
Even if the sun sets on the old lion’s throne,
I’ll burn through the night—I’m never alone.
(A moment of quiet, the flicker in the abyss.)
And in the cold, in the black,
A tiny candle still burns back.
A whisper cuts the howling sea,
A spark that’s always here with me.
Maybe one light’s all it takes,
To guide me through, to set the flames.
Not a blaze, not yet, not now,
But I am still here, and I know how.
(Bigger, triumphant, like a storm breaking apart.)
What’s a boat worth in the harbor? What’s a soul without the fight?
If the fire turns to embers, let a candle light the night.
Even if the sun sets on the old lion’s throne,
I’ll burn through the dark—I’m never alone.
(Fading, but with defiance.)
The night is long, the path unclear,
But I’m still standing—I’m still here.
